Prayers For Minneapolis, Minnesota And Our World Tonight…
Words are hard to pen for what happened today in Minneapolis, Minnesota. When asked to pray for this community tonight, I began to read and try to comprehend what happened. God’s beautiful people in Minnesota and around the world are in pain tonight and rightfully so. The shooting at the Catholic Annunciation Church is beyond understanding.
Father, we ask for protection over our world. We ask you to heal the hearts that are breaking tonight in Minnesota and around the world. Father, we pray for the families that have children involved in this tragedy. We ask you to bring healing to everyone that have been injured. We pray for the families that experienced the loss of children tonight. Comfort them God as only you can.
Father, we pray that the healing balm of Gilead would flow through Minneapolis tonight. May love flow like a mighty river throughout this community, we pray.
Together, around our world let’s pray the prayer of St. Francis of Assisi…
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace, Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy; O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Father, protect our children from evil we pray. Protect our schools, our churches and may they feel safe once again.
Father, reveal evil before it happens, we pray. Give wisdom and strategies to the leaders of our communities, to teachers and all who work within our school systems. Show them ways to prevent such crimes, we pray. We ask oh God for hope to be restored tonight where devastation has come. Amen.
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28
