Mom, Mother, Ma…
Good morning beautiful people, good morning. Last evening I discovered a friend’s mom had passed away. This beautiful woman attended a Bible study that I was in several years ago. I woke up thinking about her and that Bible study Jesus, The One And Only by Beth Moore. Lucy was such a joy, and we enjoyed many laughs and some tears as we journeyed that Bible study together. I looked for a writing I had penned the last night of the study, but couldn’t locate it this running late Tuesday morning. I had shared a little something about everyone and put it in a writing. We were such a diverse group, starting as strangers and left as friends. As I searched through my journals, I chuckled at the title of one of my journals this morning. Mom: a title just above queen.
Let’s pray for mommas this morning. I lost my mom early in life, but God blessed me with sisters.
Father, thank you for motherhood. A calling beyond what any job could pay. A calling like no other.
Father, thank you that you designed motherhood for your Word tells us in Psalm 139:13-18; For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand—when I awake, I am still with you.
Father, we honor motherhood today and we are blessed to journey life with Jesus, the one and only. Amen.
