Happy Palm Sunday…
Good morning beautiful people, good morning. Today is Palm Sunday, the day that Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a colt. It’s the beginning of Holy week. Actually, let’s read it from scripture.
As they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage on the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two disciples, saying to them, “Go to the village ahead of you, and at once you will find a donkey tied there, with her colt by her. Untie them and bring them to me. If anyone says anything to you, say that the Lord needs them, and he will send them right away.” This took place to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet: “Say to Daughter Zion, ‘See, your king comes to you, gentle and riding on a donkey, and on a colt, the foal of a donkey.” The disciples went and did as Jesus had instructed them. They brought the donkey and the colt and placed their cloaks on them for Jesus to sit on. A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted, “Hosanna to the Son of David!” “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” Hosanna in the highest heaven!” When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred and asked, “Who is this?” The crowds answered, “This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee.” Matthew 21:1-11
On Palm Sunday the people shouted Hosanna, but five days later the people yelled crucify him.
My brother Eldon who now resides in heaven, this was one of his favorite songs. I Know a man who can. We would pray together across a few states and ask this man named Jesus to get involved in every situation of our lives.
Do you know the man that rode in that day?
Let’s Pray:
Father, thank you for your love. Your agape love is beyond human comprehension.
Father, we come to you today, just as we are. We are imperfect people in need of a loving Savior. Thank you for making all things beautiful in your time. Only a God that created the heavens and the earth can bring good from even the most difficult situations. You are such a treasure. A God of love poured out for all mankind that would believe and receive.
Father, thank you for the most expensive gift we will ever receive. It cost you everything. May our lives reflect the love you have shown us. May mercy and grace be received today in the hearts of people all across this globe, we pray. Amen!
