A Tribute To My Sister Jen… Angel’s Prayer Of The Day

A Tribute To My Sister Jen…

Good morning beautiful people, good morning. I found a picture recently of my mom, two of my sisters, myself and my nephew. It brought back fond memories with these two sisters. Jen was born with a rare bone disease, and life was difficult at its best for her. She didn’t let it stop her though. As I saw the Mother’s Day Tea being advertised in our city, I knew she sure would be pleased. Although I was out of town and did not attend, I’m glad it was a success. The proceeds went to benefit the Homeless Shelter here in our city.

Jen now resides in heaven. When I would visit her, she would always ask me to go get things for people that lived around her. She lived on the fourth floor of an apartment that overlooked her city. She saw the people without homes all around her and she shared all she had. I remember times I felt she was going to wear me out running around to meet all the needs on her list for her neighbors, friends and people that lived on the street.

I wanted to share her writing once again.

Folks Of The Street... Jeannette Hafford

His hair has not seen a comb this morning… His coat is ragged and worn…

His eyes are bleary from lack of sleep… That coat won’t keep him warm.

But… Keep on walking, turn your head, and don’t even look his way. Look the other way and you will see her. Her hair has lost its luster… It’s no longer styled with care… Look into her face, and see the hurt and pain… It’s clearly written everywhere.

Now only outcasts, that is their fate… But we can reach out and help them. It might not be too late. If we give them a warm bed to sleep in, and some good food to eat. But don’t let that just be all for those on the street…

For they were some mothers’ babies… They were some parents’ son… Once they listened to the songs that she sung. Some mother rocked them, her babies, to sleep. She never dreamed they’d be folks of the street.

Let’s Pray:

Father, thank you for another beautiful day. Father, lead us today to that someone that their light is growing dim. Shine down on us today, oh God. Ignite the lamp in that heart today that is losing hope. Send someone their way, we pray, send us.

Father, thank you for strategies on how to meet the needs of your people. Shine down on us today, oh God, shine down on us, we pray. Highlight the people oh God, that one that is losing hope.

Father, you are over the government, and we look to you for answers to these complex issues. Send us the answer, we pray. Amen.

Have a beautiful day God’s most beautiful people. Bless someone today, because you can.

A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out. (Isaiah 42:3)

Someday that bruised reed or smoldering wick may be you or someone you love. Help one another.
