The Power Of A Hug…
Good morning beautiful people, good morning. Happy Monday! Last evening I went to visit some of my grandkids. I told them I was very low on hugs and needed at least twelve each. They are so sweet and hugged me until I let them go.
It’s been years now I was part of a team that went out on the streets of Los Angeles and gave out hugs. Some of our team wore shirts that said free hugs. The Dream Center with Matthew Barnett was going out to meet people right where they were at. We gave out hot chocolate and a hug. I met the most interesting people and showed people the love of Christ. I must admit this was a bit out of my comfort zone, but I soon discovered the power of a hug.
At a meeting I attended in Vienna, Austria, the prophet spoke over me that I was a very affectionate person, a woman of God’s presence. She went on to say she was not the only hugger in the room. That the power of God would flow through me to heal women that the world says could never be healed and give them the blessing of a mother. I pray into that every day that God himself would use me to bring that healing. That God would lead me to them.
Never underestimate the power of a hug beautiful people. As I was carrying some items in the Good Morning Beautiful Prayer Center here in Presque Isle, Maine there were several people lined up on the street. I stopped and prayed for one man selling some items. He asked me for a hug. I prayed for him, gave him a hug and picked up my load and walked on. We never know the burdens another person is carrying and maybe today someone is need of your hug. It’s ok to be affectionate people. It’s ok to need a hug and it’s ok to give a hug. I always ask for permission first.
Sometimes I even ask God for a hug, his hug. He shows me every day how much he loves me. Ask him and he will show you as well.
Let’s pray:
Father, thank you for your love. To everyone that needs a hug today, may you send someone their way. Father, the world seems harsh, cruel and full of pain on every corner. Use us today, the body of Christ to bring some love, a hug, a joy that the world full of broken people need. To you be all the glory.
Father, thank you for showing everyone that would ask today for a hug, your presence in a way they would know it was from you and you alone. Jesus, the lover of man’s soul. Amen.
