Thankful Thursday In The City…
Good morning beautiful people, good morning. Happy Thursday. We have a lot to be thankful for this morning in our city. I have been asked to pray for flooding in New Mexico this morning. Socorro County, New Mexico is suffering with loss of lives and devastation.
There is a lot happening in our world today. My city is flooded but in a different way, with the marijuana business. Your city is under siege as well. Our towns and cities all have an enemy and prayer for deliverance is the key.
Today let’s petition the God of all hope this morning. The God of Romans 15:13 that Apostle Paul tells us about. May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Let’s Pray:
Father, we pray for peace, for comfort for where there has been destruction in our nation. Thank you for wrapping your arms around every person suffering this morning. Send them help, oh God, from on high according to your Word. We lift up Socorro County this morning. You know every need they have and we thank you in advance for meeting it.
Father, you are our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. (Psalm 46:1) We pray strength for everyone dealing with the flooding in New Mexico today. We pray in agreement this morning that you would send them help and be their help today. You heal the brokenhearted and bind up their wounds. (Psalm 147:3) Let it be so, oh God for everyone impacted by this flooding.
Father, you rebuild ancient ruins in people’s lives, and cities according to Isaiah 61. Thank you for rebuilding in the lives and cities of these beautiful people. May the God of comfort, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, be ever present and close to the broken. Meet their needs, oh God, the maker of heaven and earth. You know every detail and see every person’s devastation this morning. We bring them to you, oh God and ask that you make a way for every person, every family. For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says” Do not fear; I will help you”. Isaiah 41:13. Thank you for sending them hope and help in their time of need.
Father, send help to every town and city this morning. Shine your light in the darkness and make our towns and cities a safe place for your people. We build a wall like Nehemiah did this morning in prayer. I remember today the dear Sister Mary who now resides in heaven with you. The Catholic nun that did more behind the scenes than any human being I have ever met in my city to relieve human suffering. She was a beacon of hope to our city and its people. May that be us, oh God. Use us today for your glory, your glory alone. Amen.
Have a blessed day God’s most beautiful people. Be thankful for what you have. Help someone today, because you can. Continue to build a wall of prayer around your town or city. God wants to be the center of the town or city in which you live. Believe…
