Laughter Is Good For The Mind, Body And Soul…
Good morning beautiful people, good morning. Today, let’s remember to laugh. Let’s thank God that he puts laughter in our mouths. Laughter is good medicine. (Proverbs 17:22) I am sure he puts things in our lives to make us laugh, but if we are too serious, we can miss them. Today, we are going to take a dose of the best medicine on the market and it’s free. Laughter.
Some of the funniest things happen in church. If you are not going to church you are missing out. This one incident still makes me laugh even after all these years. I was with a friend at a church we were visiting after an Aglow International Conference in the Boston area. We looked up a church on the map and made our way there. I can still remember the pink suit and pink high heels I was wearing that day. A day I will never forget.
As I walked in, the greeters took one look at me and said she needs joy. One person began to swing me around one way and another person began to swing me around another way. This went on for what seemed forever. I looked back at my friend, and she was laughing uncontrollably. I wasn’t sure how to get out of the most embarrassing situation I just entered into.
Somehow, we made it through the service. I felt quite embarrassed actually as I really had never danced much in life. I didn’t laugh then, but when I was driving home, well let’s just say things shifted from drive to park. As I inquired of God of what just happened, I began to laugh uncontrollably. I had to pull my vehicle over for forty-five minutes on the side of a major highway, just to laugh. I just couldn’t drive another mile.
Today, let’s remember to laugh. Let’s enjoy our day that God has given us. Amen?
Let’s pray:
Father, thank you that the joy of the Lord is our strength. (Nehemiah 8:10) Father, fill our mouths with laughter, and our lips with rejoicing once again, we pray. Amen.
Have a blessed day God’s most beautiful people. Take an extra dose of laughter today. It’s good medicine for the mind, body and soul.
